The Scientific Principles and Working Methods of LED Bulbs

Led Bulb Lights is a type of lamp that uses a Light Emitting Diode (LED) as the light source. LED is a semiconductor device that can convert electrical energy into light energy. The scientific principles and working methods of Led Bulb Lights are as follows:
Structure of LED: LED is composed of a p-type semiconductor and an n-type semiconductor, with a pn junction in the middle. There are excess holes (positive charges) in p-type semiconductors, and excess electrons (negative charges) in n-type semiconductors. When two semiconductors come into contact, a depletion zone is formed, which is the region without charge carriers.
The operation of LED: When an applied voltage causes the p-type semiconductor to be connected to the positive pole and the n-type semiconductor to be connected to the negative pole, the current will flow from the positive pole to the negative pole. At this point, the holes in p-type semiconductors and the electrons in n-type semiconductors will approach the pn junction and recombine near the depletion region. During the recombination process, the energy difference between holes and electrons is released in the form of photons, generating light radiation. This is the principle of LED luminescence.
Color of LED: The color of the light emitted by the LED depends on the band gap of its material, that is, the energy of the photon released when the hole and electron are combined. Different semiconductor materials have different band gap, which can produce different colors of light. For example, gallium arsenide (GaAs) can emit red light, indium phosphide (InP) can emit green light, and gallium nitride (GaN) can emit blue light. By mixing different colored LEDs, various colors of light can be obtained.
